Defence for Children International Sierra Leone addresses child Justice by working to ensure all children in conflict and in contact with the law are safe and protected from all forms of violence – including abuse, neglect and sexual exploitation.
2,100 CHILDREN directly provided with socio-legal support – including legal aid and representation, psychosocial counselling, mediation, family tracing and reunification
30,000 PARENT and caregivers learned about child rights and how to promote child protection.
95% of CHILD OFFENDERS were acquitted, discharged or received a noncustodial sentences.
67% of CHILDREN in conflict with the law were prevented from pre-trial detention.
