Ending all forms of gender – based violence against girls and young women is not only a basic human right, but it also has a multiplier effect across all other development areas.

Defence for Children International Sierra Leone Works with partners to secure better policies and practices to reduce and ultimate eliminate all forms of Gender-based violence against girls and young women, in Sierra Leone.

10,000 GIRLS and young women made aware of, and are able to stand up for and demand, their rights.

300 VICTIMS of gender-based violence supported to access justice services - including legal representation and legal education.
100 PROTECTION SPECIALISTS trained to prevent gender - based violence against girls and young women in Sierra Leone.
2 LEGISLATIVE changes influenced for children in Sierra Leone - including the review and harmonization of the legal minimum age of 18 for marriage in the Child Marriage Laws.


 Achievements made possible from November 2015 to December 2016 with the support of UNICEF Sierra Leone.
